The most beautiful Italian towns are within easy reach from Palazzo-Casale. Under an hour's drive will take you to Siena, Perugia, Arezzo, Città di Castello, San Sepolcro, Assisi. Or maybe you prefer to have a relaxing time at the near by Trasimeno lake where Hannibal's victory over the Romans took place.

Florence and Rome can comfortably be visited by train in 1,5 resp. 2.5 hours, which will make a perfect day's outing without any parking problems and trafic jams.

For wine lovers a visit to Montepulciano and to Montalcino is a must. Visit the wineries and taste their world famous Vino Nobile and Brunello. But there are also many wineries in and around Cortona that produce the also very good Cortona d.o.c. and offer interesting winery tours, delicious tastings and Tuscan culinary specialities. You can also visit the local oil mills to see where Italy's best olive oil comes from and then maybe join a cookery class to learn to produce a typical Tuscan meal with local products.
